Customer Service Week 2009

ITU to the Rescue!:
October 5-9, 2009

What is customer service week?

Customer service week is a national event devoted to recognizing the importance of customer service and honoring the people on the front lines of the service revolution.

Plus, ITU Customer Service Week features:

• Free lunch!
• Contests!
• Specialized training!

Planned activities:

• Monday:Intro E-newsletter and "The Internal Customer" training class
• Tuesday: E-newsletter and "The Power of Charm" training class
• Wednesday: E-newsletter and "Professionalism at Work" training class
• Thursday: E-newsletter, "Networking" training class, and FREE lunch from 11:30-1:30 pm at Sub II, Rooms 1 and 2 (Fairfax), Original 301 (Arlington), and Occoquan 203 (Prince William)
• Friday: "The ART of Customer Service" training class, lyrics contest submissions and nominations for the ITU Customer Service Excellence Award are due

Lyrics Contest Rules:

• One entry per department
• Maximum length: 2 minutes
• Must include the theme, "ITU to the Rescue!" in the lyrics. Any tune can be used.
• Electronic submissions preferred. Please e-mail the text of your lyrics to itucustomerservice@gmu.edu with the subject line of “lyrics” by Friday, October 9th
• Attach your department name, lyricist’s name, and contact information
• Entries will be judged on their use of the theme and originality
• The winning entry will be sung at the Fall ITU All Staff Meeting — November 12, 2009, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Customer Service Superhero Design Instructions:

• One entry per department
• The superhero's powers must be related to customer service
• Superheroes can be presented in one of three ways: 1. ITU employee dresses up as the superhero during the designated portion of the Fall ITU All Staff meeting; 2. ITU employee graphically designs superhero; 3. A photo is taken of someone dressed as the superhero
• If you are graphically designing or taking a photo of the superhero, submit them to itucustomerservice@gmu.edu by Friday, November 6th
• If you are going to participate in this event, please email itucustomerservice@gmu.edu by October 30th so we can plan accordingly
• All superheroes (in person, or an image/photo) will be presented at the Fall ITU All Staff Meeting on November 12th
• Have FUN with it!
